Developing a Prosperous Mind

  When Malcolm X was in jail, he would explore the prison library. By reading everything he could land his hands on, he discovered the power of books. In his book, " The Autobiography of Malcolm X ", he wrote about his nightly reading habits: "At one-hour intervals, the night guards paced past every room. Each time I heard the approaching footsteps, I jumped into bed and feigned sleep. And as soon as the guard passed, I got back out of bed onto the floor area of that light-glow, where I would read for another fifty-eight minutes---until the guard approached again. That went on until three or four every morning." Malcolm shows us the power of having a prosperous mindset. No matter how isolated you are, your mind will never be alone. It will never be bored or lonely. Look at it this way; a mindful full of knowledge is rich, while a mind that lacks knowledge is poor. Once you have a rich mind, it just gets richer from there. Finding your purpose

When I've held internships and in my current job, I find myself bored. The only thing I did was dreading the work week and looking forward to the upcoming weekend. My whole life revolves around a job I don't really enjoy as much as I thought I would. Viktor Frankl once said, "Life is never made unbearable by circumstances, but only by lack of meaning and purpose." So what do you do when you get bored? Like most people, I did everything to avoid boredom. I recall looking back to my activity log for the week on my phone and noticing most of my hours were spent looking at social media. I would frequent Instagram, constantly refreshing the page to browse new content. I always talked about the latest car or the coolest tech product that came out. I was like a walking encyclopedia. And it was all just useless information! It wasn't just that. I wanted to go out every weekend and explore the places around me. But soon I ran out of places to see and check out! Sure, I do...
